The way where we live

Looking back on the path where I've walked...

Near Haengju mountain, March 2022

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, many teachers in this country have tried a new way of teaching with video recording.

Indeed, they have had to mix the traditional way of teaching and the new way of teaching.

We all gradually change over time, but it's often very difficult to recognise it by ourselves because the old parts of myself always coexist with the new parts of myself in such a mixed form.

We cannot become a different person overnight, but we are today never the same person as we were yesterday.

Since the time when I entered university and started writing about my thoughts in my daily journals, I've kept changing and gradually become a different person.

Sometimes I was angry, nervous, worried or tired, but I tried to focus on what I can change almost all the time.

In this world, there are numerous things that we cannot change.

In order to focus on what I can change, I should realise who I am, who they are, and which situation I am in.

All the worries and anxieties are related to these questions and we all want to know the answers to those questions.

However, we cannot know the answers.

Fortunately, in order to love myself, I don't have to know exactly who I am. I have only to accept myself as it is.

Likewise, in order to love another person, I don't have to know who they are. I have only to accept them as they are.
